The start date for high school football is apparently delayed until October 8 according to an LHSAA memo sent to schools Wednesday.
As The Advocate reports, although there has not been an official announcement, the memo from LHSAA executive director Eddie Bonnie includes an updated sports fall calendar. The dates shown on the calendar for football are open-ended. No dates are set for championship games leaving the season schedule open to delays.
LHSAA fall sports were set to begin August 24 with jamborees in both volleyball and football. Volleyball will now start September 8.
Regular season for all other sports including swimming and cross-country will begin on August 31.
