A house fire on Estalote Avenue in Harvey is being blamed on a lightning strike.
The blaze broke out last night as a violent, fast moving storm was moving through the region.
The flames were so fierce, firefighters were kept from entering the structure and having to fire it from the outside for more than 90 minutes.
Finally after two hours a score of firefighters from Harvey, Terrytown and David Crockett were able to gain control and put down the flames.
The home was left uninhabitable.
There were no injuries from the fire.
