The James Beard Awards nominations are again recognizing some New Orleans chefs and restaurants, with seven total. The James Beard Foundation announced the nominees today.
Donald Link is nominated in the Outstanding Chef category for his creations at Herbsaint on St. Charles Ave. in downtown New Orleans. Ana Castro of Coquette on Magazine St. in the Garden District is nominated for Rising Star Chef of the Year.
Slade Rushing of Brennan's and Isaac Toups of Toups Meatery are nominated for Best Chef: South.
Willa Jean's Kelly Fields is nominated for Outstanding Pastry Chef.
Bacchanal Fine Wine and Spirits is up for Outstanding Wine Program and Brigtsen's is nominated for Outstanding Service.
Winners are announced May 6.
