If you have valid Louisiana identification, and can get to the Superdome today, you can buy tickets to see The Rolling Stones at Jazz Fest -- a day before they go on sale to the general public.
Every other Rolling Stones show in North America is sold out, said Jazz Fest producer Quint Davis -- making the fest's second Thursday this year the hottest music ticket in the nation.
"The only Rolling Stone tickets left in the world are at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival," said Davis, with Jazz Fest tickets going on sale worldwide on Friday.
"When it comes time to hit that Ticketmaster button, you know, we don't know how many people are going to want a ticket, and who's going to get them," said Davis. He says that's why they wanted to create an opportunity to make sure locals could get in on the action.
"This festival, the heart and soul, is New Orleans, is New Orleans people." said Davis. "That's who make it what it is, so I came up with this idea."
Tickets for the rest of Jazz Fest -- to the rest of the world -- go on sale tomorrow.
