Jackpot: Lottery delivers $33-million more to LA than last year

The Louisiana Lottery has posted a sizable bump in players and that means more money for the state.  

The Lottery sales up $33 million; contributing $12.4 million more dollars to state government than in 2018.  

The Louisiana Lottery Corporation made almost $524 million in sales during the fiscal year that ended June 30. That amounts to $33 million more than the prior year, according to the corporation’s annual report.

The corporation’s operating expenses were $342.4 million, or $23.2 million more than the previous year.  

The organization transferred about $184.3 million to the state treasury last fiscal year, about $12.4 million more than in fiscal year 2018.
