The Louisiana Gaming Control Board has announced casinos will shut down at midnight tonight for at least two weeks.
Chairman Ronnie Jones says the move aims to reduce the spread to coronavirus.
The move comes at a cost.
"The hit to the state revenue stream is going to be big," Jones warned. "Shutting these 20 casinos down is going to result in a loss of revenue to the state of $1.6 million per day."
That's about $22 million in lost revenue.
