A Port Allen Catholic school principal was arrested in a Washington, D.C. strip club, while on a school field trip to the nation's capital.

A spokesman for the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Dan Borne, says 47-year-old Michael Comeau was arrested during the trip with students from Holy Family Catholic School, a K-8 school.

An arrest report says officers were dispatched to Archibald's Gentlemen's Club after a complaint about "an intoxicated man refusing to pay his bill."

According to The Advocate, Comeau faces charges of public intoxication and possession of an open container of alcohol.

Borne says Comeau has resigned, and an interim principal will be appointed.

Comeau also quit his job as a reserve officer with the Brusly Police Department.
