For the first time, Louisiana is reporting how many people are "presumed recovered" from coronavirus.
Health department officials say 14,927 in the state are in that category of presumed recovered.*
The number of COVID-19 cases in Louisiana today increased by 401 to a total of 26,140.
The coronavirus deaths increased by 61 to a statewide total of 1,601.
Meanwhile hospitalizations fell by 30.
However, there are a few more patients on ventilators.
The state now reports 286 people intubated. That is up by 12.
There have now been 142,056 tests completed for coronavirus in Louisiana.
*A person is presumed recovered if:
- 1) it has been more than 14 days, since he/she tested positive and he/she is not currently in the hospital or deceased (when hospital status is known), or
- 2) it has been more than 21 days, since he/she tested positive and he/she is not deceased (when hospital status is unknown).
