There are now more than 1,000 cases of coronavirus in Louisiana.
The state health department this afternoon reported 1,172 cases. That is an increase from Sunday of 335 newly reported COVID-19 cases in the state.
The deathtoll jumped in one day from 20 on Sunday to 34 reported Monday.
"In addition to Lambeth House, where LDH has identified 42 COVID-19 patients and reported 9 deaths, the Department has newly identified a second cluster at Chateau D’Ville in Donaldsonville, with 5 cases all identified today."
