LSU senior guard Daryl Edwards days playing for the Tigers are officially over, as Will Wade said during his weekly radio show he will apply for a medical hardship waiver and become a grad transfer if that is granted.
Wade said LSU’s coaching staff didn’t anticipate Edwards being back next season, and so transferring will be in the best interest of both parties.
“Daryl is going to apply for a medical hardship,” Wade told a caller on his weekly show. “Because of the guard depth we have next year, we kindof planned on him not being here with him being a senior. We talked that over with him. He’s going to do a graduate transfer and we’re going to apply for a medical hardship. He’ll go play somewhere else.”
Edwards had season-ending foot surgery after playing nine games, keeping him just under the cap 30 percent cap for medical redshirt eligibility.
In those games, he averaged 4.4 points, 1.1 assist and 1.6 rebounds per game while clocking 17.1 minutes per appearance.
