LSU baseball still has plenty of gas left in the tank!

The Tigers pounded out 12 hits and scored 12 runs to eliminate the Bulldogs from the SEC tournament.  On a night where LSU needed some help with a short game, as the Tigers were still recovering from their 17 inning marathon between the two teams earlier in the week, the Tigers offense came through.  The Tigers effectively ended the game in the 3rd and 4th innings, scoring five runs in the third and seven runs in fourth.

Pitcher Clay Moffit patched together 1.2 innings as the starter.  Aaron George gutted through 3.1 innings and Chase Costello finished the final 2 innings without giving up a run.

The 10 run rule couldn’t have worked out any better for a Tiger pitching staff that was incredibly thin.  LSU is now 3-1 in the SEC tournament with wins over Mississippi State, South Carolina, and Auburn.  Tomorrow the Tigers will get a big chance to improve their post-season resume against the top seeded Vanderbilt Commodores.  Vandy is ranked No.2 overall in the country.

First pitch in the semi-final matchup is scheduled for around 3:30 p.m CT.  Ole Miss and Georgia play the first game tomorrow at noon.
