Looking to get over the Saints post-playoff blues? Maybe a ticket to LSU in the College Football Playoff championship game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome is just the ticket. Speaking of tickets, they can be found, but they are pricey – close to $1,000 on average.
“The current ‘get-in’ price for the game is about $950,” said StubHub’s Erin Exum of Stub Hub, the official ticket reseller for the College Football Playoff championship.
The opening price for tickets averaged $750, so, every day, the price goes up.
There are still about 5,200 tickets available. The highest price ticket sold so far was over $7,000. Exum said that ticket price probably was in an ideal seating location, and probably included food and beverages included. But that seven grand was for a single ticket.
Exum said that sales for this game are the highest number in the last six years. She said having the game in New Orleans made it easier for both team’s fans to come. Last year, Clemson had to travel to California for the championship game.
