The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office says a man attempting to rob a drug store was shot and killed by a Luling pharmacist.
It happened Monday evening at the Thrift Village Drug Store on Paul Maillard Road in Luling.
Cops say a masked man allegedly went into the store with a handgun, demanding drugs.
A scuffle ensued and according to the Sheriff's Office the pharmacist pulled out a gun and fired.
The assailant was hit once in the leg. He ran for about 100 yards before collapsing where he died.
The dead man was identified as 36-year-old Mark Fisher Jr.
