New Orleans police say a man was hit and killed by a passing vehicle in Gentilly early Saturday morning.
According to NOPD, the fatality took place near I-610 West and Elysian Fields Avenue just before 1 a.m.
The man got out of his vehicle after it broke down in the middle of the interstate. As he went to return to the passenger side he was struck by a passing vehicle, according to initial reports from NOPD.
The man was pronounced dead by EMS.
Police did not disclose any information concerning the passing vehicle involved, or its driver.
