The following mandatory evacuation order issued by Grand Isle Mayor David Camardelle:
Mayor David Camardelle will be calling a mandatory evacuation as of 9:00 a.m. Sunday, September 13,2020.
Due to the sudden changes in Tropical Storm Sally we are expecting it to become a hurricane before landfall.
Because of the high tides on LA Hwy 1 this would cause some difficulties in leaving the island.
Evacuation center will be opened at Raceland Recreation Center, located at 221 Recreation Drive, Raceland, Louisiana.
