Two women are being hailed as heroines after saving the life of a woman who fell under a float.
Katy Beith and Marlea Bouvier were watching the Krewe of Tucks parade passing St. Charles and Felicity. Beith describes what happened to WWL-TV:
"She kind of came out of nowhere, reached up for a throw, turned around to get her bearings and the float hit her."
That's when the women sprung into action, as Marlea Bouvier explains the rescue:
"I went forward and I got her right forearm and pulled her out. And she said, 'I'm okay, I'm okay'. Then someone else picked her phone up and gave it to her and she went forward and lost in the crowd."
Both women are looking for the city to make changes to protect revelers who rush forward to get beads as floats pass by.
