It's the first appearance of this year's Mardi Gras royalty.
It's Lundi Gras in Kenner today.
"We have the Krewe of Zulu and the Krewe of Argus that come down there," says Kenner Mayor Ben Zahn. "The two courts meet, the king and the queen, along with their royal courts. It showcases what Kenner has to offer in historic Rivertown."
Mayor Ben Zahn says what the city offers today is a free party at Rivertown, from 10 a.m to 3 p.m.
The mayor says it's become quite a tradition for his city.
"This'll be the 20th year for Lundi Gras. It's in Rivertown...Kenner's Rivertown. And I think people can expect a very good time 'til about 3 o'clock in the afternoon."
"The Topcats will be playing all day. There'll be food vendors. There'll be crafters. It's a good time for the whole family."
There'll also be a second-line parade, from the end of Williams Boulevard near the Mississippi River, beginning about 11:45 a.m.
Kenner's Rivertown is located at 400 Williams Boulevard.
