A Tennessee-based chemical company is upgrading a Louisiana plant. Eastman Chemical says its $70 million investment will go towards expanding and modernizing operations at its St. Gabriel facility, which produces ammonia-derived compounds used in feed, food, personal care and agricultural markets.
Oil futures edged higher today, with global markets awaiting the weekend’s G-20 summit and next week’s gathering of OPEC and its allies. August crude managed a gain of 5 cents to settle at $59.43 a barrel.
