Lots of sunshine for the next few days with a slow warm-up in store this week.

"It stays sunny for most of the week, but rain chances return Friday and Saturday," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexandra Cranford.

You will need a jacket in the morning.

"The day will start with a little patchy frost on the Northshore with lows around 37 there, and Southshore spots will likely have low 40s to start the day," said Cranford.

By the afternoon the temperatures will be back into the 60s.  We''ll see a slow warming trend with temperatures likely reaching the low 70s on Tuesday, then mid-upper 70s by Thursday.

We could see a few showers forming by Friday.  Our next cold front arrives Saturday with some showers and perhaps a few strong thunderstorms late in the day into Saturday night.
