Cops say a driver crashed his motorcycle on the Northshore and died.
"St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of North Willie Rd. near Folsom, to investigate a motorcycle crash that has resulted in a fatality," Captain Scott Lee said in a news release.
He explained that the preliminary investigation found the crash occurred as the 2014 Honda Fusion was traveling north on N. Willie Rd near La Hwy 40.
"For unknown reasons, the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and was ejected."
Lee says even though the driver had a DOT approved helmet, he sustained severe injuries in the crash.
"The driver was transported to a local-area hospital where he was pronounced deceased."
The coroner’s office will identify the body.
