The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office announced that a Houma man wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred at The Landing apartments last week turned himself in to authorities on Thursday.
26-year-old Darrell Rene Scott Jr., was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a charge of Second Degree Murder and as a principal to illegal use of weapons. His bond is set at $1,030,000.
A warrant was issued after he was identified as a suspect in the shooting death of 22-year-old Damon Wallis, 22, on the morning of Aug. 30. Deputies learned that the shooting was connected to a drug-related robbery. An additional suspect, 19-year-old Jordan Ray, was arrested the day of the incident. He was booked for illegal discharge of a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property and possession of a stolen firearm. He remains held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
“An important aspect of circumstances concerning this suspect’s surrender was the diligence of our Detective Division,” Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said. “We are grateful for the dedication they show every day.”
