
A woman is in critical condition after losing an arm when she and boyfriend were struck by an apparent hit and run driver near Galvez and Desire Monday morning.
The Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate reports the woman was dragged 600 feet by the vehicle and was found in the street critically injured.
The driver, 21-year old Ahmad Taylor allegedly fled the scene, drove home and confessed to his parents. The parents returned to the scene and told police where they could find their son.
Police arrested and booked booked Taylor on two counts of negligent injuring, hit-and-run driving with serious injury and reckless operation of a vehicle. Taylor was administered two sobriety tests.
On Tuesday, He was released on $3-thousand dollars bond.
