Plans might be changing when it comes to taking down the damaged structure of the Hard Rock. Some new developments in the case, and according to NOFD Chief Tim McConnell.
WWL-TV talked with McConnell who said the building's owners Kailas will be releasing a plan to the city tomorrow morning and it will apparently call for no implosion. McConnell said they were aware that Kailas and the engineering firm they hired were looking at other options. McConnell added that the change in the plan could be because the area that would be impacted is rather large.
McConnell said once the plan is released it would be vetted to make sure it is the best option.
"They are presenting a plan tomorrow, I don't know the exact details of it but we will know that, fully, tomorrow morning," McConnell said.
The original plan was to implode the remaining site of the Hard Rock in early January, most likely after the Jan. 13 College Football National Championship game will is being hosted in New Orleans.
