The New Orleans City Council on Monday announced all regularly scheduled January meetings are being pushed back one week because of the cyber-attack that happened last month. The meetings for January 9 and January 23 will take place January 16 and January 30.
"While our City employees, national guard, and many volunteers have labored tirelessly to bring us back from the cyber attack and resulting protective measures taken, access to critical documents and information is still limited for many city departments, boards and agencies," said Council President Helena Moreno. "We are delaying our regular meetings this month by one week to help give staff more time to prepare material and documents in order to give the public the Council meeting they expect."
The council will hold a brief meeting the morning of Thursday, Jan. 9 to amend the official calendar. All matters previously scheduled for the Jan. 9 regular meeting will be taken up at the Jan. 16 meeting.
