With enhanced unemployment benefits expired, the city of New Orleans wants to help people find jobs.
New Orleans' Job1 is looking to connect people with industries that are hiring.
"The health care industry is posting a significant number of jobs. Service industries are posting a lot of jobs," said New Orleans Economic Development Director Jeff Schwartz.
Schwartz says the city is working closely with a number of entities to find people work -- and says they have between 800 to a thousand job openings waiting to be filled.
"Probably the best things that folks can do is reach out to Job 1. We already have between 800 and a thousand jobs just posted in the last 30 days," he said. "There's also Louisiana Workforce Commission which has a number of job posting through their hire system."
Schwartz says everything from entry-level positions to top executives can be found across several industries.
