The readers of Southern Living magazine have praise for New Orleans, for its restaurants, it bars, and for the city overall.
The magazine ranked New Orleans third in its list of best southern cities, saying that no matter how many times one visits, there's always something here to wow them.
Kristian Sonnier with New Orleans and Company says that's big.:
"It's very influential for our drive market. We get a lot visitors that are subscribers to Southern Living that drive in from Houston and Dallas and Birmingham and Arkansas," said Sonnier. "Southern Living, others like it like Garden & Gun...those are publications with affluent readers who like to come and spend time in New Orleans."
Sonnier says these rankings are great for attracting mid-week drive-in visitors, the ranking puts the city in esteemed company.
"It's getting more and more competitive. Charleston, as you can tell, is a hot, hot destination right now," he said, "So is Savannah."
Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia, came in first and second, respectively.
