New Orleans dodged a bullet when Hurricane Laura made landfall over Southwest Louisiana near Cameron Louisiana. However, this doesn’t mean the metro area will remain dry.
“It will spread heavy rain and strong winds over western Louisiana all day. The storm surge flooding will continue all morning and likely all day from the coast to Lake Charles. Catastrophic damage is expected from the surge and wind,” said WWLTV’s Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum.
Today the New Orleans area will feel the impact of Laura’s outer feeder bands with heavy rain and possible 40 mph wind gusts.
