NOLA City Councilman Jared Brossett reportedly arrested for DUI

On the weekend New Orleans officially began Phase II of economic recovery, with the opening of bars and restaurants, City Councilman Jared Brossett appears to have run afoul of police.

The Councilman was reportedly taken into custody, suspected of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, early Sunday morning.

The Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate reports Brossett allegedly crashed his car at an unknown location.

He was reportedly booked around 6am then released about 90 minutes later.

Brossett has been part of New Orleans politics for more than decade, serving as a state representative, and as the City Council member representing District D since 2014, being re-elected in 2017.
