NOLA reaping the benefits of College Playoff Championship between LSU and Clemson

The College Football Playoff National Championship is Monday night and New Orleans will start to see a contingent of Clemson and LSU fans rolling into town.  Chief Marketing Officer for New Orleans & Co. Mark Romig said folks are already beginning to show up.

"I've actually seen LSU and Clemson fans already walking around the Fench Quarter, so I think you are starting to see some of them come into the city now," Romig said.

Lots of activities in the French Quarter, along the riverfront and in the warehouse district.  Romig expects this national championship weekend will be worth hundreds of millions of dollars, not only for the city of New Orleans, but for the whole region. One thing is for sure, it's going to be a party.

"I expect the LSU fan to show up big and large," Romig laughed.  "They have proven in years past that they know how to experience the football weekend.  They'll come in, they'll stay at the hotels.  They'll have great parties. They'll bring their family and friends with them and they will show off why they are the best fans in the world."

A large amount of Clemson fans will also show up from South Carolina to partake in the festivities.

"We'll have fans from all over the United States that will be in New Orleans beginning this weekend through Monday night into Tuesday," Romig noted.
