The City of New Orleans will provide a COVID-19 Meal Assistance Program, a cost-sharing collaboration with FEMA to qualifying residents. Meals will be provided to a range of vulnerable residents impacted by COVID-19, including high-risk health adults, residents with special medical needs, homeless residents, homebound seniors, and families with children 18 and under who are not receiving other federally supported food assistance. A vendor partnering with local restaurants will provide meals for this program for 30 days. Meals will begin in July.

Call 3-1-1 or go to nola.gov/311 to apply for meals if you are in any of the following categories and you are not receiving any other federal food support:*

  • Seniors age 65 and above
  • Adults with high-risk health conditions and special medical needs
  • Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed and require isolation or quarantine
  • Homeless residents
  • Families with children under 18

*Per FEMA rules, federal food assistance programs that will disqualify residents include SNAP, Meals on Wheels, NOLA Public School Meal Program, Pandemic EBT, and State-sponsored homeless hotel services
