The search for the suspect has been called off, without an apprehension. The school lockdown has been lifted. The investigation is ongoing.
Currently, NOPD Seventh District officers are responding to a call of car burglary and aggravated assault near the intersection of Michoud and LeMans Street after a citizen saw the subject burglarizing their vehicle.
The subjects fired a gun at the citizen before fleeing on foot.
Officers have set up a perimeter in the area which is near Einstein Charter School.
The school is on lockdown, however there is only staff inside of the building (No students).
An NOPD K-9 Unit is searching for the subject.
