Days after being sworn in as Superintendent of New Orleans Police, Shaun Ferguson's son was arrested after surrendering to authorities in connection with a domestic dispute.
A police spokesman says the case involving Shane Ferguson will be investigated as it would any other case, WWL-TV reported.
According to the police report, the 21-year-old Ferguson was booked on one count of domestic abuse battery. The police reports states Ferguson and his ex-girlfriend got into an argument that escalated to spitting in each other's faces, followed by Ferguson hitting her in the face, according to The New Orleans Advocate.
Police say the two have no previous documented history of domestic violence. The report says the relationship between the two ended in December.
