New Orleans Police are investigating a homicide in the Lower Ninth Ward.
An initial police report says it happened Monday around 4:06 p.m. in the 6100 block of Marais Street. When responding officers arrived, they found a male victim with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators are currently gathering evidence and information to identify who may be responsible. The Orleans Parish coroner will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name once an autopsy is completed.
