New Orleans Police investigated a traffic fatality that happened on the Westbank, in Algiers.
The accident happened this morning around 10:45 a.m., at the intersection of General Meyer Avenue and Woodland Drive.
When cops arrived they discovered a male victim deceased at the location.
Officers learned that an adult female was traveling eastbound on General Meyer Avenue, crossing Woodland Drive, when the victim stepped into the road and was struck by the oncoming vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. No drug and alcohol impairment were suspected.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of the autopsy.
