An officer on patrol during the early morning hours of Friday the 13th heard the sound of gunfire in the area of Claiborne and Toledano after midnight.
After canvassing the area the uniform came up on two adults males down and suffering from gunshot wounds in the 2900 block of Toledano Street.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
NOPD homicide investigators worked the scene for any witnesses or clues.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim’s name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
