A St. Tammany Parish jury found 68-year-old Claude Wayne Bennett guilty of molesting a child.
The Pearl River man faces up to 99 years in prison when he is sentenced Monday.
"Assistant District Attorneys Will Macke and Tiffany Dover argued that Bennett manipulated the trust of the victim’s family members and took advantage of the victim for his own sexual gratification," District Attorney Warren Montgomery's office said in a news release.
The jury deliberated for 25 minutes before returning the guilty verdict.
