The death of a pedestrian struck by a train near Slidell last week has been ruled a suicide, St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Charles Preston's office said.

The body of 30-year-old Bradley Hayes of Baytown, Texas, was found on the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30. The coroner ruled that cause of death was blunt force trauma.

"After reviewing all available evidence, Preston has ruled the manner of death was suicide," according to the statement from the coroner's office.
