Now 2 in custody, 1 wanted in Algiers double-murder that killed toddler

New Orleans Police are asking for help finding a third suspect in a shooting that left a toddler and an adult dead Monday in Algiers.

"The 23-year-old victim, deceased victim, the three-year-old victim are siblings. And the mother was shot as well," said New Orleans Police Superintendent Ferguson. "This is a tremendous blow to that family right now."

The mother has gone home from the hospital.  Chief Ferguson says they still don't have a motive for the shooting, but they know who they're looking for.

"A Mr. Razaq Adekunle. He's a 19-year old male with a last known address in Algiers," said Ferguson. "We are looking for him now. He will be charged with two counts of second degree murder."

An NOPD news release says Adekunle's last known address is 411 Belleville Street.

Police say anyone who has information should call the NOPD Homicide Unit at (504) 658-5300 Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at (877) 903-7867 (STOP). Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
