A new 58-thousand square foot, three story health care center at the site of the former Lake Terrace Shopping Center has opened.  Ochsner Health Center – Lake Terrace opened to the public on Tuesday.

According to New Orleans City Business the center offers primary care, general pediatrics and women’s services, lab and imaging.  Also featured is a drive-thru pharmacy, the first in the Ochsner Health System.

The Lake Terrace Shopping Center was flooded and abandoned following Hurricane Katrina.  Since then the property at the corner of Robert E. Lee and Paris Avenues languished for a number of years with redevelopment plans never taking hold.

In 2016, demolition began with the property set to be replaced with a First NBC Bank branch.  A year later, the City of New Orleans approved the redevelopment of the site as an Ochsner Health Center and construction got underway in 2018.

McDonnell Group constructed the facility for Ochsner.  The building was designed by local architects VergesRome.
