New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a double shooting that proved fatal for one victim in the 1300 block of South Galvez Street.

Police say shortly after 11:30 a.m. today, officers found a man shot in that location.


"Upon arrival, they found a 44-year-old male victim with gunshot wound(s) to the body lying face down in the grass," said police in a statement. "A brief time later, officer learned a 28-year-old male victim arrived at a local hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was listed in stable condition."
