LSU football coach Ed Orgeron said an anonymous quote attributed to him in a USA Today article on allegations of sexual assalt on former LSU running back Derrius Guice is "not accurate" in a statement he released Thursday night.
Guice was accused by two women of rape while they were students at LSU. In the USA Today article, an anonymous player who was the boyfriend of one of the women said Orgeron told him not to worry about those allegations and claimed: “Everybody’s girlfriend sleeps with other people.”
"Any insinuation that I had knowledge of his girlfriend and Derrius Guice is completely false."
Orgeron also said that the allegations against Guice should be taken very seriously "and the alleged victims must be heard and supported."
"I will always stand up for what is right and without question, I have complied - and I will continue to comply - with all university Title IX protocols and procedures."
