Christmas trees will be collected in the next couple of days for Orleans and Jefferson Parishes.
The Communications Director for the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, Jimmy Frederick... "The trees start being collected today in the French Quarter and the Downtown Development District, and then for the rest of the parish, starting on the 10th, 11th, and 12th," said Frederick. "And Jefferson Parish will be picked up curbside throughout most of the parish beginning on the 10th through the 12th."
Where should residents put their trees?
"Put your trees where you would normally put your trash, where it is normally collected," Frederick said.
Frederick says the trees have to be bare to be picked up, they cannot be flocked, no ornaments on them.
