After less than three hours of play, officials suspended play in the opening round of the Zurich Classic at the TPC of Louisiana on the Westbank.

Officials decided to let the golfers return to the course about three and half hours later, but then more lightning was detected.

With lightning having moved back into the area rapidly, R1 will not resume at 1:20pm CT. Best estimates are that dangerous weather conditions will be in the area until at least 4:30pm. @PGATOUR

Officials say with great weather forecast over the next three days, they should be able to make up for the lost time today.
