Players say NFC Championship will 'haunt us for some time,' but Saints and New Orleans are 'resilient'

Saints players having had a couple of days to think things over are taking to Twitter to share their feelings after a blatant missed call cost them a trip to the Super Bowl.

"Thoughts of what could have been will haunt us for some time," tight end Benjamine Watson said. "We are all incredibly disappointed. But we will not be shaken!"


He added that "systems must be corrected" and "As horrible as it feels now, we must congratulate the victors."

Punter Thomas Morstead also posted a message to the fans.

"Obviously the result was not what we all hoped," he said. "Hope everyone can recover emotionally this offseason and ride with us even harder next season."

He made of point of not making it about the infamous no-call.

"We felt the love."

Saints record setting receiver Michael Thomas has been very active on Twitter, retweeting many articles and posts about the game and the aftermath.  He also sent a brief message to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Saints offensive lineman Terron Armstead told fans, "We are heartbroken together, but we will HEAL together."
