There was gunfire around noon today at a Baton Rouge Walmart.
Some media reported it was an “active shooter situation.”
East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's deputies confirm shots were fired, but say it was not an active shooter incident at the Walmart on Burbank Drive at Bluebonnet.
The sheriff says two men in line at the Walmart got into an argument and it escalated. Both men reportedly pulled out guns and shot at each other, but missed.
The sheriff says that victim is now in stable condition.
One suspect is in custody, the other remains at large.
