Thousands of customers remained without electricity 36 hours after what was Tropical Storm Olga blew into Louisiana.

Entergy Sunday evening reported about 14,000 outages.  The highest number were in Jefferson Parish, followed by Tangipahoa.

CLECO reported more than 7,300 addresses with no electricity.  The vast majority were in St. Tammany Parish.

Washington / St. Tammany Electric had 2,200 outages.

At the height of the storm, more than 100,000 customers lost power.

Winds across the region were sustained at around 45 miles per hour with gusts over 60mph.

Trees, limbs, power lines and polls came down.

Crews were continuing work to get the remaining customers back on the grid.

Entergy released a statement:

A team of more than 900 are working Sunday to restore power to customers affected by Tropical Storm Olga. The storm brought wind gusts near 60 mph and heavy rains downing trees and knocking out power to approximately 92,000 customers at the storm’s peak Saturday.
Crews from across Louisiana as well as from other Entergy states are part of the team working to restore power. As of 5 p.m. Sunday, power had been restored to approximately 78,000 customers affected by the storm that caused significant damage to Entergy infrastructure, largely in southeast Louisiana. The New Orleans metro area and Hammond areas were hit the hardest by the storm that downed trees and damaged more than 150 poles.
Workers are currently encountering challenges in accessing areas where some damaged equipment is located between homes and in the rear alleys of residences. Rear alley work can require the use of specialized equipment and additional personnel, which could make repairing equipment more difficult and extend outage times.
