The New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board today issued a precautionary boil advisory for the Westbank of Orleans Parish. Officials say water pressure dropped below 20 pounds per square inch while crews were making a repair on Mardi Gras Boulevard.
"Residents in the affected area are advised to use bottled or boiled tap water to drink, cook, clean food or brush teeth until further notice," the Sewerage and Water Board said. "Residents with compromised immune systems should also use safe water to wash hands, shower or bathe."
