Rain is expected on and off for most of the day today and the rest of the week.
"Soggy weather returns today, and it will stick around," WWL-TV Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum forecasts. "The rest of the week a few upper-level waves move across the Gulf South. Each wave will set off scattered showers and storms."
He days today will be cloudy and cool with scattered showers and storms as another wave moves through.
"A few storms could be strong to severe later today with large hail and damaging winds."
Nussbaum says the Storm Prediction Center has us on the low end of the risk scale for severe conditions.
"SPC has us in a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather today. Tonight will continue to have scattered showers and storms with some strong to severe."
Then, more scattered showers and storms are expected on Wednesday and Thursday.
