Louisiana has a new national chicken tender king! Raising Cane’s wins the fast-food battle for tender-supremacy according to Thrillist.
The Baton Rouge-based fast-food chicken tender chain beat out Louisiana chicken king Popeye’s for the best chicken tenders, nationwide.
15 contenders from across the country were judged on their tenderness, breading, seasoning and overall deliciousness. Thrillist describes biting into a Cane’s chicken finger as “impossibly tender, dripping clear, non-grease juices,” even going as far as saying “the chicken here is king.”
Here are the restaurants that make up the top 5 on the list:
1: Raising Cane’s
2. Popeye’s
3. Culver’s
4. Chick-fil-a
5. Long John Silver’s
Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves started the restaurant chain in 1996 naming the fast-food chain after his dog. There are now 490 restaurants in 27 states.
