LSU and football head coach Ed Orgeron are close to finalizing a contract extension, The Advocate reports.
Coach O's current deal is set to expire at the end of 2021. He just completed his second full season as the Fighting Tigers' head coach, after taking over in the middle of the 2016 season after the school fired Les Miles.
LSU pays Orgeron about $3.5 million annually, with bonuses and incentives adding a potential $1.5 million extra.
Orgeron is 25-9 at the helm for LSU. The Fighting Tigers finished the 2018 season with a 40-32 over Central Florida win in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Day.
